Who doesn’t love mashed potatoes? Add some garlic and parmesan and it brings them to a whole new level.
I always remember helping my mom in the kitchen growing up, and when she would quarter her potatoes, I would always manage to steal some with the salt shaker and eat them before she could get them put in the water!
This recipe is super easy and can be altered for your taste preference by adding more or less garlic, as well as more or less parmesan. These go with anything from a good steak to pork loin or roasted chicken.
Ingredients
- 5 Whole Red Potatoes
- 5 Garlic Cloves
- 2/3 cup Heavy Cream
- 2 tbsp Unsalted Butter
- 1/4 cup Parmesan Cheese
- Salt
- Fresh Ground Black Pepper
Instructions
- Put the potatoes and garlic cloves in a large pan and cover with water (generously salt the water).
- Bring to a boil for 17 minutes (or until potatoes are tender). Drain well.
- Put potatoes and garlic back in the pan. Add the butter and mash with a potato masher.
- Add the heavy cream. You can add more or less if you desire a different consistency.
- Stir in the Parmesan cheese.
- Add salt and pepper to taste.
